2010 Chapter Leadership Training

On April 23 and 24, 2010, I attended the FBA’s annual Chapter Leadership Training, which was held at the Westin Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. Presidents-elect and other incoming chapter leaders from all over the country participated. The topics included: chapter leadership: achieve success by empowering the extended board: thirty days to success; operational planning, FBA resources, membership issues and strategies, the new FBA website; etc. The speakers included: Robert S. Clark, Past President, Utah Chapter; Hon. Donovan Frank, District of Minnesota; Steve Rau, Vice President for the 8th Circuit; Jack Lockridge, FBA Executive Director; Stacy King, Deputy Executive Director, and many others. This was an excellent opportunity for the chapter leaders to share ideas on chapter success stories and lessons learned. I obtained valuable contacts with other leaders at the breaks, luncheons, and reception, with whom I will be able to seek advice and exchange information. I am certain that this training will assist me in developing and planning future DC Chapter activities.
